Bristol creative agency ‘The Real Adventure’ wanted a commercial devised around a soundscape set to actions for Buxton Campus.
Award winning sound engineer James Hockley was on hand to with foley expertise and to advise on the possibilities of mixing recorded and dubbed sounds to build the soundtrack out of actions discovered within the Universities equational programmes.
Buxton’s wanted to convey in their course offering in spa management, catering and sports whilst also conveying the social scene in the area. Director Jade Leanne Taylor and Creative Director Ben Everett scouted the courses paying close attention to every resource within the locations that could become a sound affect to build the music track. Ben worked out the composition during the recce so that The Real Adventure and their clients at Buxton could visualise exactly what they wanted.
Senior scriptwriter David Lassman mapped out the story through the images whilst also recommended three hero’s from each of the courses who come together within the nightclub scene ready for our producer Mel Jones to schedule and plan and conduct thorough risk assessments for this demanding shoot.
One of the main challenges was from motion graphics designer Clive Llewelyn to incorporate the marketing message ‘This is our classroom’. Buxton and The Real Adventure were thrilled with his approach and ability to find the right scene to bring this message into motion with sophisticated 3D and 2D graphics.
